I have realized that the lack of tumblr during the past two weeks has made me super productive. So I guess I am stopping. Goodbye!

It’s 4:30am on Friday and I can’t sleep. Instead, I’m eating some dinner leftovers (spaghetti and turkey meatballs!) for breakfast(?)/super late night snack and reading the interwebs. I’ve done some homework and plan to finish my Healthcare Economics before going to bed.
I’ve created a wishlist to give to my parents for Christmas since they never want to surprise me with stuff. The list is as follows:
-2 640gb SATA harddrives
-1 external enclosure for harddrive
-5 rolls of 120 Fuji Velvia 100
-5 mail processors for film
-PC cable so I can connect a pocket wizard to my Hasselblad and still use two flashes
One of my professors told my class how she has allowed the Halloween Fairy to become commonplace at her home. Basically, kids are told that on Halloween night when they are asleep, the Halloween Fairy comes to every house and exchanges their candy for presents. (Here’s an article that talks about it: The Halloween Fairy | The New Homemaker)
WTF is that about. Over-concerned parents suck. If you are worried about your child getting fat or having other health problems, teach them to eat healthy on a regular basis. Eating Halloween candy once a year isn’t going to affect you if you otherwise lead a healthy lifestyle.
Also, this scam just makes your kids brats. You are giving them another Christmas. Instead of going out on Halloween and running around through as many neighborhoods as possible in order to get candy, your kids are going to never want to go out since they know they’ll just get presents anyway.
Halloween is my favorite holiday, even though I don’t go trick or treating anymore. I love seeing people’s costumes, dressing up, and giving out candy to kids. I love being scared and seeing how creative people can be. This Halloween Fairy BS goes against all of that.
I hate the fear-mongering media that creates this BS.
I hate over-concerned parents who are causing their children to live sheltered, boring lives.
I hate the Halloween Fairy.
