Read about this company in SuperFreakonomics: Intellectual Ventures designs solutions to important problems. Like reducing the spread of malaria by killing the mosquito that carry the disease. Based on the frequency of the mosquitoes beating wings, the laser is capable of killing only those mosquitoes that are carrying malaria. I think stuff like this is awesome. The video above as well as the other videos on the page are awesome. Yay technology and smart minds!
